Looking to the Future

By the fall of 2009 the Parish of the Good Shepherd was completely debt-free and its church building was consecrated.

Inspired in part by this milestone, the parish began to look to the future in creative ways and early in 2010 held a daylong Charette. The results were refined and presented to the congregation at the Annual Meeting for discussion and further polishing. At that meeting those present voted unanimously to adopt a new ministry plan for the future that included an addition and upgrade to the existing space, a new kitchen and cafe, along with additional space for storage and meeting as well as a re-shingling of the roof.

We eventually hope to have the space and resources to have our cafe open every day as a place of gathering for everyone in the community.

Some of us are really starting to believe that you can change a life with a cup of tea and a raisin bun...

A New Home for a New Ministry

There is also a need to financially support our existing ministries and establish new ones. We need about $400,000 to complete the upgrade and expansion and we ask you to prayerfully consider your place in our Parish Family and respond as you feel inspired.

If you are already a financial supporter of our parish life and ministry and feel that you cannot give over and above that we thank you for all that you are doing. But if you feel you are able to give to our Building Fund – the Shepherd’s Ministry Fund – please use the pink Building/Maintenance Fund envelope in your box. Donations can also be made by choosing the " Make a Donation" tab at the top of each page in the website.

And if you feel that the best way you can support is through prayer alone please know that your prayers are just as valuable as every other kind of support as we move forward.
